FAQ’s about of the Ark

Noah’s Ark was founded in 1972 by a group of United Methodist lay people and clergy and Rev. Jim Rains.
The Ark moved into it’s current location in 1978 with a very generous grant from the Hearn Foundation and continues it’s base of ministry at 12902 Front Beach Rd., Panama City Beach, Fl.

There are 1 full time staff.

Funding and Budget
Our end of year Income/Expense for 2011 is projected to be approximately $190,000 total Program fees, expenses, salaries, maintenance, donations.
The Summer program makes up nearly half of our income.
The Winter program makes up just under a fourth of our income.
Direct donations make up the rest.
With reductions in UMC Conference funding donations will need to continue to be a increasing percentage of the budget.
